One Rise Photo LCSW, PLLC is a small business created and run independently by me, Carla Lee Rice. I have forty years of experience learning about what hurts people, families and communities and how healing happens. I have studied and practiced psychology and social work, treated people with addictions and educated students with special needs. I earned a black belt in a traditional karate dojo and cultivated photography as a meditational practice, that guides my eye to light, beauty and the preciousness of each moment.

 

One Rise summons the sunrise, exploring its infinite variations while honoring this common bond, which connects us all. The Buddhist foundations of karate teach that everything comes from the mind first, and the visual image has a deep and formative impact on the mind. One Rise integrates visual images into healing narratives and cultivates healing communities which honor the wisdom of the elders, appreciate the fresh views of young people, and seek out the hidden insights of those too often left out of the conversation.
